Portrait Photographer Research - Antonin Kratochvil
The natural lighting is coming from the sun.
She seems to have her hands waving in the air although her right arm seems to be hidden.
The setting looks like it's being taken outside near a plant and furniture shop.
The photo is being taken up close right next to her.
This photo expresses a very happy and peaceful mood.

Double Exposure
I picked the photo of a Battleship
The objects are the battleship and the bridge and it was positive space
Duplicated the image four time and rotated each one clockwise
There was no merging required
Conceptually, it's symmetrical and it makes the sea look even bigger
The meaning or mood this image concepts is very relaxed

Composition: I chose this photo because the way the colors bring out the positive and negative space between the ship and the horizon. Compositionally, the shape of ship and bridge make, as the lines follow throughout the background are truly magnificent.
Technical: The focus is on the ship as the darkness overshadows the light. This was taken in a fast shutter speed to catch each one of the ripples of the ocean glimmering in the sunlight. Communication: The mood this brings out is very calm and collective towards its atmosphere. This photo is truly magnificent because it reveals how even the darkest of figures can make the things that shine with light even more beautiful. |
Composition: I selected this photo for the love of its wondrous leading lines as they follow throughout the sky. The point of view captures the clouds in the sky reflected upon the ongoing skyscraper.
Technical: The focus was on the reflection of the skyscraper as it mirrors the town around it. The point of view truly shows how enormous the skyscraper actually is. Communication: What I find so compelling about this photo is the empty space it fills throughout the sky. I suppose the meaning of this is never underestimate the power ones reflection can contrast. |
Composition: Looking at this photo, the line and shape of the trees cover the shining light from the glowing sun. The space in the photo either reveals sky, clouds, light, or an even more extravagant definition of the trees.
Technical: The contrast in the photo follows between each tree as wall blocking the sun from the viewer. The fast shutter speed was crucial in showing each trees outstanding structure. Communication: The meaning behold this photo defines how even the smallest glimpse of light can reveal a whole new picture. |
Composition: The texture within this photo shows every detail of beauty nature has to offer. The background really brings out the colors of the flower.
Technical: The focus on the flower outclasses any other sign of life in the photo. Without the bright lighting, the flowers true colors would forever be a mystery. Communication: Although the flower was dead, it's vigorous colors mask its outcome. This is significant because when glancing at this photo, the first thing you'll ever see is the flower itself. |
Composition: The patter in this composition truly signifies the plants overlapping each other. The shape of each plant show how unique they are from each other.
Technical: Its shallow depth of field focuses the flower in the front. The fast shutter speed reveal each light and shadow the plants show. Communication: It's interesting point of view guides you from one plant to the other. The subject brings life to a setting without it. |
Composition: The background's blur makes it look like we're running really fast. When following the subject the camera moves in a direction in which the background completely shifts in the same direction.
Technical: The shutter speed and shallow depth of field gives the photo that speed affect. Communication: This photo is significant because it portrays something that isn't actually happening. It's interesting point of view makes it look like we're running at the same speed, or tied. |
